Do I need to be able to read music? No.

Do I need an iPad? Preferably, yes because it provides a much larger and more accessible playing area. However, you can use an iPod Touch or iPhone.

Can I use The Improvise Approach with percussion? You can use it with a wide range of percussion and music technology e.g. Soundbeam, Apollo Ensemble, Skoog, GarageBand etc.

How many people can play in a group? Up to 4 players using iPads usually but its up to you. The group can be up to 8/9 when others are playing other instruments e.g. percussion instruments e.g. chime bars, xylophone, drums, shakers, bells (see 11) and other music technologies.

Can I lock off specific areas of the screen so that my student(s) won't accidentally alter the settings? Yes. There is an illustrated section in the book showing you how to set 'Guided Access' up on your iPad.
